Organizations We've Donated To:

UHN Magic Castle at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre

On October 25th 2023, we donated to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre’s childcare program called the Magic Castle. The donation included school and art supplies ranging from washable paint to packs of crayons! These will be used during arts and crafts for any child to use!

Kids of Incarcerated Parents (KIP CANADA)

On August 9th 2023, we donated a total of 2105 school and art supplies to Kids with Incarcerated Parents (KIP Canada). These supplies ranged from erasers to binders to help students have access to the supplies they need for back to school. This organization provides support and guidance for children whose families are affected by the Justice system.

The Native Child and Family Services of Toronto

On August 9th 2023, we visited their office and donated all sorts of goods, ranging from pens to backpacks for their Back to School initiative! In total we donated 1872 school and art supplies. The Native Child and Family Services of Toronto provides the community a life of quality, support, wellbeing, caring and healing for the children and families. They provide both youth and educational programs.

Toronto Foundation for Student Success

On May 31, we donated 7 bags with over 2000 items including paint, paper, workbooks, pens and more (total of 2852 materials). TFSS recognizes that in many neighborhoods in Toronto, thousands of young people do not have access to after-school programs. To help change this problem, TFSS has implemented its own after-school program called beyond 3:30. This program is a safe and welcoming space for children ages 8-14 where they can learn, play, eat and grow. Our donations will be going directly to the beyond 3:30 program to help with their mission.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)

On November 29th 2023, we went to CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) and donated art supplies ranging from marker kits to oil pastels. These supplies will be going to the Camh’s Gifts of Light program that is 100% donation funded. Their mission is to identify the patient wellness gap and create change by working with patients and families by providing access to basic necessities and activities to help support their transition back into the community. As well they host many different events such as music and art community workshops.

Friends of Ruby

On May 26th we donated 1649 school and art supplies (pencils, pens, stickers, etc.). They will be using our supplies in their art programs as a welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Toronto. Friends of Ruby is an drop in center for youths across the GTA providing support programs and essentials!

Christopher's Haven and Boston House Hope for Healing Cancer Home

Last Weekend in October, MaterialBank team and Our Sunrise went to Boston to donate to Christopher's Haven and the Boston House Hope for Healing !! These places serve as a home away from home for children with cancer and their families. We donated school and art supplies ranging from crayons and sketch books!

YWCA Toronto Girls Centre

On January 24th 2024, we visited YWCA Toronto’s Girls Centre (The Young Women’s Christian Association) where we donated a wide range of school supplies such as binders and textbooks. YWCA Toronto Girl’s Centre provides mental health, educational and leadership programs to help students thrive in their academics. They provide programs that range from university assistance to building community leaders by giving students unique opportunities to engage, fundraising and advocating for global issues.

 Pathways to Education Program

On July 7th, 2024, we donated hundreds of school supplies to the Pathways to Education Program at their Regent Park Community Health Centre site. This donation aims to support 560 high school students residing in downtown east core areas such as Regent Park, Moss Park, and St. Jamestown, who are part of their Youth Enrichment Academy. Pathways to Education is a program that supports students from low income communities to graduate high school. They are currently preparing a welcome back event in August where each student will receive a back-to-school package.

Eastview Neighborhood Community Center

On August 8th 2023, we visited EastView Neighborhood community centre where we donated all sorts of good ranging from erasers to binders! In total we donated 1954 school and art supplies. These donations will be used in their afterschool program and back to school initiative! This centre provides programs for students of all ages.

YMCA Black Achivers Mentor Program

On Monday July 8th 2024, we donated hundreds of school and art supplies the YMCA Black Achiever Mentor Program.  Their program provides opportunities for black high school aged youth in the Greater Toronto Area, allowing their students to develop socially and academically through the support of Black mentors and role models.

Horizons For Youth

On October 25th 2024, we visited Horizons for Youth where we donated school/art supplies and over 50 backpacks to help support their student residents. Horizons for Youth provides at-risk and homeless youth from ages 16-24 in Toronto with holistic support, life changing programs and a home to help them leave the streets behind. Thank you to everyone who made this donation possible
